Geofenced check-in & classroom codes

Attendance without hardware when you need it.

Teaching & learning$12 a month as part of Attendance & devices

What it does

Students and staff can check in from their phone inside a campus geofence, or enter the six-digit code a teacher shows on the board. The code changes every 30 seconds, so it cannot be passed around.

  • Location radius per campus area
  • Codes that rotate every 30 seconds
  • Rate-limited against guessing

How it works.

Three steps from setting it up to using it every day.

  1. 1

    Set the place

Draw a boundary around a campus, or show a code on the classroom screen.

  2. 2

    Check in from a phone

Learners and staff check in from inside the boundary or by entering the code.

  3. 3

    Trust the record

Check-ins from the wrong place or at odd times are flagged, not silently accepted.

What changes.

The same work, done once, in one place.

Without InstLane

With InstLane

For each person.

Teachers and staff

Show the rotating code and watch names appear.

Students

Check in with your phone in two taps.

Questions, answered.

Does InstLane work for both schools and universities?

Yes. The same system covers early years, primary and secondary (Matric, O and A Levels), intermediate colleges, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes, plus short courses. A network can run all of them in one workspace.

Which attendance devices can we connect?

ZKTeco terminals that support ADMS (push), Hikvision access controllers that send ISAPI events, and any RFID reader or middleware that can call a web address with a JSON message. We help pilot institutions connect their devices.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Attendance terminals keep punches in their own memory and send them when the connection returns. Teachers can also take the register in the browser as soon as they are back online.

Is our data kept separate from other institutions?

Yes. Every institution has its own database, and every request is checked against the institution it belongs to. You can export your data at any time.

Do parents need to install an app?

No. Parents and students sign in from any phone browser. There is nothing to install.

Stop running your institution on registers and group chats.

Join the pilot. When your place comes up, we set up your workspace with you.
