How it works.
Three steps from setting it up to using it every day.
- 1
Set up rooms
Hostels, floors, rooms and beds, with wardens.
- 2
Allocate
Place residents in beds and keep a history of moves.
- 3
Know who is in
Check-in and check-out at the hostel gate feed the hostel register.
What changes.
The same work, done once, in one place.
Without InstLane
- Room charts on the warden’s wall
- Hostel fees billed separately
- No record of who was in at night

With InstLane
- Live occupancy for every hostel
- Hostel fees on the same invoice
- Night attendance from the hostel gate
For each person.
Everyone sees the part that matters to them, and nothing they should not.
See occupancy at a glance.
Wardens see who is in which room.
Pricing for Hostels
$8 a month as part of Hostels. Pilot institutions use every module free for one term.
Questions, answered.
Does InstLane work for both schools and universities?
Yes. The same system covers early years, primary and secondary (Matric, O and A Levels), intermediate colleges, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes, plus short courses. A network can run all of them in one workspace.
Which attendance devices can we connect?
ZKTeco terminals that support ADMS (push), Hikvision access controllers that send ISAPI events, and any RFID reader or middleware that can call a web address with a JSON message. We help pilot institutions connect their devices.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Attendance terminals keep punches in their own memory and send them when the connection returns. Teachers can also take the register in the browser as soon as they are back online.
Is our data kept separate from other institutions?
Yes. Every institution has its own database, and every request is checked against the institution it belongs to. You can export your data at any time.
Do parents need to install an app?
No. Parents and students sign in from any phone browser. There is nothing to install.
